. . .like her legs are loose, and in the front of her wig a little strip of the underneath part shows. Her skin has more of a yellow-ish tone than my other light skinned dolls, and her cheeks are not very rosey . . . .

    so

should I call CS and see what they can do? I hate having to return dolls and cause a whole bunch of trouble for them. The wig thing and the face tone/roseyness aren't as much of an issue as the loose limbs. I am not even sure if they are considered loose, but they are looser than the limbs on my other dolls. If I hold her horizontally, her legs slide down.

    what should I do??

I have to wonder if you've taken her hair out of the braids? The bald spot could easily be fixed by re-braiding the one braid. My Jess is definitely a different "color" than the rest of my lighter skinned girls, but I'm not sure I'd say it's yellower.

I'm not a picky person, but I think if I noticed THREE things about a doll that I thought were flaws, I'd request a new one. One flaw is one thing, but three is inexcusable.

The question is, are those flaws going to affect how much you appreciate the doll? If yes, request a new one.

I got a Jess held back for little DD and the first thing I noticed was her pale yellowish skin. It could be that this particular batch came out this way. I took her out of her box and her face is pretty pale and a little rosy but not as yellowish as her limbs so I think we're going to stick with this one. It helped when I took her hair down.

I've had to return a couple for flaws and they all have had the same skin tone. I noticed that it looks blander than her pictures in the catalog, but CS said that sometimes they "doctor" the pictures a bit. I can also see some of the underneath where the part is, but it looks like rooted hair there, so I think that's the way it's supposed to be if that's what you are describing. Sorry about the loose limbs, mine has quite tight limbs, I'd return her if you are not happy (I also hate to return a doll, but was glad I did in the end).

I actually think its important that you return her. AG is known for its high quality and if we as customers continue to demand high quality Mattel will get the message that its important that they do not skimp anywhere with this line of merchandise. I think American consumers are too willing to accept poor quality.Think of all the things around you that you have bought that do not last and you end up throwing them away or selling them at a garage sale for 25 cents. AG really began with Pleasant Rowland as high quality heirloom dolls, lets not let Mattel change that.

Our Jess has a different skin tone, too. Do you suppose it's supposed to be that way because of her heritage?
